Diplohack is a creative process that brings diplomats and other key stakeholders together to find and develop solutions for relevant/current issues. Turkey’s first Diplohack event was held in Inogar on 2-3 November 2018 with the theme of Diplohack Istanbul Sustainable Development Goals.
Serdar Dinler (CSR Turkey), Gökhan Yücel (Digital Research Association), Bart van Bolhuis (Consul General, Netherlands), Mustafa Seçkin (Vice President NAMETRUB Foods and Refreshments, Unilever & Chair, Global Compact Network Turkey) and Burak Kılıç (CEO, UPS Turkey) held the opening speeches on the first day of the event, which was attended by participants from different sectors. Following the opening, Mustafa Aydın (Kadir Has University), Hansın Doğan (Strategic Partnerships and Private Sector Manager, UNDP) and Gülin Yücel (Brika Sustainability) contributed to the workshops that participants will participate in later in the day through their different perspectives on Sustainable Development Goals.
In the continuation of the event, participants were divided into 2 groups and worked on projects to produce solutions to the problems identified. At the end of the second day, the groups presented the projects they developed. At the end of the event, 3 new project ideas were revealed by the participants.
